Chair Huffman opened the item and recognized Vice Chair Johnson, who moved to adopt "Amendment 8 84," saying, "I motion to adopt Amendment 8 84." Committee discussion identified the change as technical: the amendment harmonizes statutory language to reflect a recent name change for the Department of Behavioral Health and Mental Health. The committee raised no objection and the amendment was incorporated into the bill.
Senator Johnson then moved that the committee favorably report Senate Bill 137 to the Senate Committee on Rules and Reference. The clerk took the role call. Chairman Huffman, Vice Chair Johnson, Senator Ingram, Senator Manchester and Senator Gavarone voted yes; one member was recorded as excused. With a majority in favor, the committee reported the bill to rules.
