Staff said the grant would help satisfy traffic-count obligations connected to the comp plan and estimated the award range at $50,000–$150,000.
- Motion: Authorize the City Manager to sign the contract with Community Attributes Inc. for the periodic comprehensive plan update. Outcome: Approved. The contract will assist with the periodic comp-plan update; at least one councilmember opposed citing limited competition.
- Motion: Deny city-funded legal representation for Councilmember Al Merkel in case number 25-2-0071032 pursuant to Spokane Valley Municipal Code (Chapter 2.7). Outcome: Approved (unanimous of councilmembers present). See separate article for details.
- Motion/Action: Set a public hearing date for a privately initiated street vacation (proposed alley vacation near I-90/Appleway/Greenacres) to go before the Planning Commission on March 27. Outcome: Council directed staff to bring the item forward and set the public hearing date as described.
