The Coffeyville City Commission on July 22 approved Resolution R-25-80 authorizing a work authorization with Alger Martin & Associates for engineering design and bidding services for the 2026 street improvement project.
Public Works staff described the work as reconstruction or resurfacing on streets north of Community Elementary School, including North Ohio, North Parkview, Grandview (a gravel road), Glenn Avenue and Velma Drive. City staff said core samples already taken may allow engineers to recommend mill-and-overlay rather than full reconstruction in some locations, which would reduce project cost.
Commissioners discussed particular trouble spots, including the intersection of Northfield and Parkview; staff said the scope stops at Parkview and Northfield and that other intersections are not scheduled for work in 2026.
Mayor Maples moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Jones seconded. The resolution passed unanimously with Mayor Maples, Vice Mayor Van Oster, Commissioner Faulkner, Commissioner Jones and Commissioner Hendricks voting aye.
