Local businesses can enroll in the pilot for $40 per month, a price the speaker characterized as “a fraction of the normal cost.”
Poling said the pilot will collect data on participation, contamination rates and infrastructure needs to inform future city composting policy. She asked the council and community to help spread the word; no formal council action was required beyond receiving the public comment and recognizing the pilot.
Mayor Jenny Arndt later acknowledged the announcement and thanked the Compost Queen team for the initiative.
