Trustees also approved the board’s legislative priorities for the upcoming session, which the administration summarized as five major categories with the primary focus on school funding: an inflationary update to the basic allotment, increased special education funding, and funding or hold‑harmless relief for municipal exemptions affecting the tax base (district discussion cited the disabled‑veteran homestead exemption). Board members discussed whether CTE and facility funding should be singled out; administrators responded that raising base funding and properly aligning special education allotments would free local funds usable across programs, including CTE and facilities. The legislative priorities were adopted 7‑0.
On a separate agenda item the board adopted a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement and the dedication of right‑of‑way to the city of Schertz for the extension of Ray Corbett Drive; the board approved the resolution 7‑0. Administration said the conveyance would be at no cost to the district and instructed the board secretary to attach the approved resolution to the official minutes.
