Rick Buckeye, the city’s Planning Supervisor, told the board the county had given provisional recertification because seven policies — mostly in the future land use and related elements — required amendments or cross‑references to align with Broward Next, the countywide land‑use plan. “We have 1 year to to do this amendment,” Buckeye said, describing the scope as a limited set of changes rather than a full rewrite.
