Staff said the amendment removes a previously planned incentive repayment mechanism and will instead leave the remaining balance in the district’s control for future incentives, noting the change “saves the city $872,314.” The amendment also added language addressing an erosion/stabilization need at a manhole in Village Creek; staff said JCSUD would carry the immediate stabilization work while the city pursues longer-term engineering and relocation plans.
A motion to approve the First Amendment (including the late change dealing with the creek manhole stabilization language) was made by Angela and seconded by Mike; council approved the amendment by voice vote. Staff said $350,000 of the funds remain targeted for Taipei (as described in the staff report) and that the amendment preserves those proceeds.
