Colorado Elementary nearing completion; expansion and rooftop units at Charter Oak advance

Lane, a Crossland Construction representative, told the Guthrie Public Schools Board of Education on Jan. 13 that the initial phase of work at Colorado Elementary is largely complete and the building is in punch-list and cleaning phases.

"We are getting close to the end of the initial part of construction... Building is, kind of in a punch phase right now," Lane said. He reported the project passed a final fire-safety inspection and that the team will pursue a building final inspection later in the week. Lane said work on a classroom expansion had started but that concrete placement was delayed by weather.

Lane said Crossland will begin a professional final clean on Jan. 15 and estimated it should take about a week, and the district discussed scheduling walkthroughs for board members after that clean. "We are gonna start the professional final clean on 15th, which I believe is Wednesday. And, it should take about a week," Lane said.

On Charter Oak Elementary, Lane said the first GMP previously approved by the board covered rooftop units; those units are being delivered and Crossland is bidding subcontractor work for the Charter Oak expansion. "The rooftop units... are being delivered Thursday. So we're working with Cody on ordering delivery of those units. And then, we are currently bidding out to all the subcontractors for the charter project," Lane said.

Board members asked about timing for walkthroughs and were told Crossland will coordinate with board members' schedules once the final clean and floor finishing are complete. No formal action was taken on construction items during the update.
