The council on Jan. 13 authorized staff to schedule the first of two required public hearings to consider updates to Sunnyvale’s roadway impact fees. Staff said the town’s current impact fee policy was adopted in November 2020 and that Texas Local Government Code Chapter 395 governs the required update process and timing.

Mark (staff presenter) said Kimley‑Horn was retained to support the town’s roadway impact fee update and that the Planning & Zoning Commission has been designated the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee for the process. The town must hold two public hearings and publish notice at least 30 days in the newspaper of record; staff requested council approval to set the first hearing for Feb. 10 and to proceed to subsequent hearings and readings in late February.

Council approved scheduling the hearing by motion; no members of the public spoke on the item.
