OCII plans RFP for infrastructure coordination services for Hunters Point Shipyard and Candlestick Point

The Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure received a staff preview of an upcoming request for proposals seeking a consultant to provide infrastructure coordination and engineering support services for Hunters Point Shipyard phases 1 and 2 and the Candlestick Point project area.

Inder Garawal, development specialist for the Hunters Point/Candlestick projects, said the scope includes technical engineering support, coordination among developers and city departments on design and permitting, construction coordination, and assistance in accepting and conveying completed infrastructure to the City. The current contract with Hollins Consulting Inc. expires on January 6, 2026; staff intends to release the RFP with a 45‑day bid window.

Key procurement dates presented in the meeting transcript: RFP release on Thursday at 4 p.m. (staff stated an imminent release date), pre‑proposal meeting Wednesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at OCII offices, questions due August 6, staff responses posted August 8, and proposals due September 4.
