Council dedicates Krenke Park to memory of Sergeant Nevada Krenke; public ceremony set for June 10

Sheridan—s City Council on June 2 approved Resolution 16-25 to dedicate Krenke Park (1602 North Main Street) as a public park in memory of Sergeant Nevada Krenke, who the resolution says died in the line of duty on Feb. 13, 2024.
Police Chief Travis Katiska presented the resolution and said the dedication will be held publicly on June 10 at 4 p.m. at the park in front of the police department; the community has been invited. The resolution memorializes Krenke—s service, references cherry trees planted for his daughter Bella Krenke, and describes the park as a gathering place that "will stand as a symbol of peace, community, and the values Sergeant Krenke upheld." The resolution was read aloud by the chief and will be read again at the June 10 dedication.
Council members expressed support and condolences during the meeting. The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.
