Council approves vacation of 16-foot utility easement at 130 West Coy Street

Sheridan—s City Council on June 2 approved a resolution to vacate a 16-foot utility easement on Lot 1 of Mac Subdivision (130 West Coy Street), after city staff confirmed the water service line the easement protected had been abandoned.
City planner Kelly Schroeder said the easement was established at the time of platting to preserve a water-service line serving a shop on an adjacent lot; the service line has since been abandoned and utilities and nearby property owners were notified in writing with no responses recorded. Schroeder said the city—s utility department confirmed the former service line was abandoned and staff received no public objections.
Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution to vacate the easement by voice vote.
