Tahoe Forest Hospital District board announces new CEO and addresses prior staffing and inquiry concerns

Rob Darzieniewicz, board member of the Tahoe Forest Hospital District, used a stump-speech slot at the Feb. 18 Good Morning Truckee meeting to highlight his community-health priorities and to announce that Anna Roth will begin as the hospital district’s CEO in March. Darzieniewicz said Roth brings more than 30 years of hospital and health-system experience and praised her team-building background.
Darzieniewicz also addressed two issues mentioned in recent media coverage: an employee contract-cost issue that he said was resolved in 2024 and an alleged Department of Justice inquiry. He said the hospital district had not found evidence supporting a DOJ investigation into the hospital. He acknowledged that turnover among executive leadership last year had eroded community trust for some residents and said listening and rebuilding trust are priorities for the board.
No formal board action or vote was taken at the meeting; Darzieniewicz used the announcement to solicit community feedback on health priorities as part of his board engagement.
