No bids received for Steinhatchee floodplain mitigation project; county to re-advertise after ARPA reporting
Summary
Taylor County reported Dec. 17 that it received no bids for a U.S. Army Corps floodplain mitigation project in Steinhatchee that had been reserved for ARPA funds; staff said ARPA reporting must be completed before funds can be applied and the project will be re-advertised once permitting and mitigation questions are resolved.

At the start of the meeting commissioners were told the county received no bids for the U.S. Army Corps floodplain mitigation/drainage project in Steinhatchee that had been scheduled for a public hearing. County staff said those improvements were previously reserved for ARPA funds and that the county must complete ARPA reporting and identify eligible expenses before committing the funds.
Staff said the lack of bids gives more time to work through permitting and mitigation questions with consultants; the county intends to re-advertise the project later once the outstanding permitting issues are resolved. Commissioners took the report as information and requested additional updates.
Ending: Staff will return with permit and ARPA reporting updates and will re-advertise when the project is ready.
