Town staff reported progress and outstanding issues on multiple town-hall facility items during the meeting's staff reports.
Rhonda North, town clerk, told council that the consultant working on the town-hall security system (NGSC) "did correct the remaining deficiencies today, so we do have a fully functioning security system now. I'm happy to report." She said the town convened remote and on-site meetings to review HVAC equipment and that the DOAS outdoor air handler appears not to be operating as designed. North said Moland Train (the contractor) is working with the manufacturer and will be on-site to begin repairs when the manufacturer confirms a plan.
North also reported ongoing difficulty scheduling plumbing work to repair outdoor drinking fountains; although the contractor under contract has completed most mechanical and plumbing items, the firm has not provided a firm date for the fountain repairs and staff are exploring alternatives.
Council members asked whether replacement was an option for the air-conditioning components; staff said repair is preferred because replacement would involve longer manufacturing lead times. No capital appropriation or other formal action was taken; staff said they would continue to coordinate repairs and return with scheduling updates.
