Clinton County proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week; local EMS leaders recognized

The Clinton County Board of Commissioners on May 22 proclaimed May 18 through May 25, 2025, as Emergency Medical Services Week in Clinton County and invited local EMS personnel to accept the proclamation.
Commissioner Hardy read Proclamation No. 12 of 2025, highlighting the statewide recognition of emergency medical services as a vital public service and listing members of the out-of-hospital care community, including emergency medical responders, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters and other providers.
Kim Shameline, chief of Goodwill Host Company Ambulance, spoke after the proclamation and thanked the county for the recognition. "We are thankful for the recognition, from the county and also nationwide," Shameline said. She told the commissioners that Clinton County has "16 units strong," including three advanced life support units, three basic life support units (naming Kettle Creek Ambulance, Beach Creek and Bucktail Medical Center) and 10 quick-response services tied to volunteer fire companies.
Chairman James A. Russo and the commissioners invited EMS personnel to come forward for a group photograph with the proclamation. The board moved and seconded the proclamation and approved it by voice vote.
