Commission on Aging seeks liaison to Washington State Council on Aging (SCOA)

The Clark County Commission on Aging discussed appointing a liaison to the Washington State Council on Aging (SCOA) and identified members interested in attending SCOA meetings.
Amy Wooten said she had emailed the SCOA coordinator to request information about establishing a liaison and that SCOA meets monthly, usually via Zoom. “They discuss legislative initiatives at the state level for aging,” Wooten said, describing SCOA as an organization that coordinates broader state-level aging policy discussions.
Ken Lund volunteered to serve as the liaison and said he would be willing to attend SCOA meetings. Ellen Rogers offered to serve as a backup. Wooten later confirmed SCOA typically meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from about 9 a.m. to noon and that members could attend in Olympia or by Zoom.
Wooten said she would notify the commission when she receives further information from the SCOA coordinator and that she would add the willing members to a liaison list in the meantime.
