The subcommittee will meet with local partners including Riverside University Health System, Salvation Army and local service providers. The resolution specifies the subcommittee has no independent appropriation authority and will not make final funding decisions; those decisions will continue to come to the full council.
Councilmembers said they wanted a standing, elected-official level venue where more-than-three-minute public comments and detailed partner discussions can occur, and they requested staff bring a one-year report to evaluate effectiveness and next steps. The motion directs staff to convene partner organizations and develop meeting logistics and reporting timelines.
