Commission on Aging opens application period for new members; interviews set for April

The Clark County Commission on Aging confirmed its recruitment schedule for new members and named volunteers to a selection committee during a March work session.
Amy Wooten, community planner, said the news release announcing the recruitment was sent March 12 and the application period closes April 9. She described the timeline: a Webex screening meeting on Tuesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. and in-person interviews on Wednesday, April 23 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Wooten asked for volunteers to serve on the new-member committee. Cass and Justin had already volunteered, Franklin volunteered during the session, and other members agreed to fill remaining slots. Members said they would receive calendar invitations for the screening and interview dates.
Questions from commission members clarified the application process: applicants must submit a full application and selected candidates will be interviewed following the same process used previously. Wooten said the commission will use the April meetings to move the recruitment forward and invited members to participate in interviews according to their availability.
No formal vote was taken during the work session; Wooten and the committee will proceed with the announced schedule and return to the commission as needed.
