The Wendell Town Board on March 3 approved Task Order 16 under the town’s master service agreement with Geosyntec to continue environmental-review work required for HUD funding of the Pleasant Grove community center redevelopment. The contract is budgeted as "not to exceed" $19,952 and will be reimbursed through the town's EPA Brownfields grant.
Planning staff and consultant materials explained the task order covers required environmental assessment work and the correspondence and documentation HUD and state agencies require, including coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). "The environmental review requires the creation and correspondence of various materials, between a number of regulatory agencies," the presenter said in describing the scope.
The presentation noted the EPA Brownfields and HUD Community Project Fund resources are critical to redeveloping the former Carver School into the Pleasant Grove Community Center. The town manager was authorized to sign the task order after a motion to approve it passed without opposition.
The contract's $19,952 cap will be fully covered and reimbursable by the town's EPA Brownfield grant; staff offered to answer follow-up questions about the scope of work and schedule.
Board members voted to approve: the motion to authorize the town manager to sign the task order passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
