The board moved, seconded and approved a motion authorizing legal counsel to draft the contract, authorizing the board president to sign an offer, and directing staff to provide the appraisal to supervisors before finalizing the purchase. The board president said the county would reconfirm appraisal numbers and asked administrators to ensure the purchase price did not exceed appraised value.
Supervisors also discussed operational reasons for buying the property, including consolidating facilities and eliminating complications that arose from multiple district interests. The board approved the motion on a voice vote with no roll‑call tally recorded.
