The Town Council approved the town s 2025 lease with Brownsburg Little League and an updated partnership agreement with the Brownsburg Lions Club that adjusts responsibilities and fundraising expectations for the town s fireworks.
Amber Lane, representing the Park Authority, said the 2025 lease updates were largely legal clarifications: identification language and subletting provisions were cleaned up, and the lease now includes a clause allowing the town to charge the lessee for work performed by town staff. Lane said that charge-back clause had not previously been a problem but was added to strengthen the lease.
On the partnership agreement with the Lions Club, Lane said the Lions Club will assume responsibility for inspection of the fryer and hood in the Bundy Lodge kitchen and that the Club s fundraising goal for fireworks was raised from $2,000 to $3,000. Councilors asked about the total annual cost of the fireworks; Lane said last year fireworks cost $28,000. A council member asked whether a councilor who is a Lions Club member should recuse herself; the councilor said she believed she could remain unbiased and did not recuse.
A member of Brownsburg Little League identified as Jeff told the council he had no issue with the lease as presented. Councilors moved and approved both resolutions on the consent agenda; votes were recorded in the affirmative.
