Council approves midyear general fund budget amendment

Finance staff explained the amendment would adjust the previously amended general fund revenue total from $42,665,374 to $43,624,006.24 and align expenditures accordingly for cleaner year-end reporting and to provide accurate baseline figures ahead of the next budget cycle.
Why it matters: The finance director said the amendment "would help clean up the general fund and give the departments a good balanced number to start off because we're about to go into budget preparations." Council members expressed appreciation that the audit was completed on time and that internal staffing changes reduced consultant costs.
