Forest Park council confirms March 18 special election arrangements and early-voting sites

Details: Early voting begins Feb. 24 and runs through March 14 (staff repeated dates during the meeting); early-voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a specified Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. site date to be confirmed. The city will host early voting at the Forest Park Senior Center, 5087 Park Avenue, among multiple county locations listed by the clerk.
City manager Ricky Clark told the council that because the county is conducting the election, voters in Forest Park will still "only pull up the Forest Park ballot" at the county polling places even if they vote outside city limits; the system presents ballots based on voter registration precinct data. Clark said the city would prepare and mail a voter-information mailer to all households to reduce confusion, and he expected that mailer to go out within days.
Why it matters: The March 18 ballot includes a special municipal election for Ward 2 to fill an unexpired term to Dec. 31, 2025. Staff emphasized outreach to seniors and residents with limited transportation who live in Ward 2.
