The Port Resiliency Committee of Miami-Dade County voted unanimously to adopt ordinance item 1G1, an ordinance creating section 21-29.4 of the Miami-Dade County Code and amending section 8CC-10 to provide penalties for unauthorized use of addresses of county-owned property and related filings with the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations.
The ordinance was read aloud during the public hearing portion of the meeting and no members of the public spoke on the item. A motion to adopt the ordinance was made, seconded and approved by roll call; Commissioners Bermudez, Kwan Higgins, Gilbert, Vice Chairman Hardiman and Chairwoman Steinberg were recorded as voting in favor. The committee chair announced the motion passed unanimously.
Committee members did not request changes during the discussion and no amendments were offered on the floor. The agenda packet identifies the ordinance as a public hearing item; the committee completed the hearing, took the vote and recorded the outcome.
The committee also approved procedural changes to the agenda earlier in the meeting when it adopted the final agenda (which included two supplements to item 1G1). That agenda-setting motion was seconded and approved by voice vote before the public hearing for 1G1.
The ordinance text and the county code sections referenced in the hearing were identified on the agenda; the committee did not provide additional detail about penalties or effective dates during the discussion recorded in the transcript.
The committee moved on to other agenda items following the vote.
