Council approves beer-and-wine license application for Pueblo El Mirage

El Mirage councilors on Jan. 7 approved a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for a new series 007 beer-and-wine license (No. 313471) for Pueblo El Mirage, located at 11201 North El Mirage Road.
City staff reported that the applicant, Scott Roberts, and the business entity Pueblo El Mirage LLC were in good standing with the Arizona Corporation Commission and that the police department's investigation yielded no recommendation against the application. Christine Finacarro, resort general manager at the property, appeared at the hearing on behalf of the applicant and said the request transfers an existing beer-and-wine authority into the LLC to allow sales on the golf course.
Finacarro described the filing as a housekeeping action: "This is really one of our three licenses that we are...turning over from a sole proprietorship...to our Pueblo El Mirage LLC. This is our series 7 license...it gives us the ability to sell beer and wine on our golf course," she told the council. The council heard no public opposition during the meeting.
A motion to approve the license application was made by Vice Mayor Monica Dorsey and seconded; the council voted to approve the item. City staff will forward the council's recommendation and the application materials to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for state review and final licensing.
