Marysville Library reports Story Walk visits, $500 grant and new programs

Mandy Cook provided the monthly report for the Marysville Public Library. Cook said the library served a preschool class and a first-grade class on the Story Walk at Marysville City Park and described the walk as well used by families. “It’s just nice to have that actual visual that there’s some kids going through,” Cook said.
Cook told council the library received a $500 grant from a local entity she identified as the Rob C Co company; the funds will be used to buy pop-up play spaces (described as small fold-open play tents) and related accessories for children’s programming. Cook also reminded the council about a Canva class scheduled for the next day at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall; the class is in partnership with 1 Marysville and will teach participants how to create a holiday card or complete other projects.
Cook identified library staff member Lisa as participating in the Kansas Reads to Preschool committee and said the library will rotate new books on the Story Walk in November.
