Louisiana launches new educator portal, retires TeachLA Live; users report login and workflow problems

The Louisiana Department of Education on its certification and credentialing monthly call announced the Louisiana Educator Portal (LEP) now includes Louisiana Educator Clearance (LEC) features and that TeachLA Live will be retired at the end of the month.
The change “has allowed us to control for a lot of the common reasons when we would return an application without processing,” Rachel Norman, director of certification, said, noting the new workflow links applications directly into the state’s certification management system and produces formal feedback letters through teachlouisiana.net.
The move aims to streamline submissions and reduce manual handling, LDOE officials said. “Everything is as soon as it's been submitted through LEC, it's been tied to the management system, and so we will be processing every application submitted through LEC based on the documentation that was provided,”…
