A volunteer’s archival research located language in the Corinthian Yacht Club deed the commission will investigate further to determine whether the deed obligates the club to provide public waterfront access and what steps would be required to make a launch feasible. Town staff said they will review the deed and report findings and permitting needs, including Coastal BCDC considerations, at a future meeting.
Commissioners also asked staff to investigate 41 Main Street, which has a publicly‑accessible deck area, to determine whether and how beach access could be established from that parcel to create a safer, low‑tide launch site. Commissioners noted 41 Main Street offers nearby parking and a sheltered launch area if a feasible access path can be identified.
Staff emphasized the research would require legal and permitting review and that a staff report would follow; no decisions were made and no timeline for a final recommendation was set other than general follow‑up in upcoming meetings.
