Parks commission approves minutes, appoints members to paddleboard and pool subcommittees

At its Dec. 16, 2024 meeting the Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission approved the minutes from the Oct. 24 meeting and filled two subcommittee vacancies created by Angela McInerney’s resignation.
The commission voted unanimously to approve the Oct. 24 minutes (roll call: Chair Holbrook, Vice Chair Moon, Commissioner Judge and Commissioner Burr all voted yes). The motion to approve the minutes did not include a named mover in the public transcript; the chair called for a roll call after a motion and second were recorded.
For subcommittees, the commission nominated and approved Commissioner Byrd to join the SUP/paddleboard/kayak launch subcommittee; the motion passed by roll call with all present commissioners voting yes. The commission also approved assigning Chair Holbrook to serve on the public swimming pool subcommittee; that motion likewise passed on a unanimous roll call.
Commissioners and staff said they will revisit subcommittee membership after a new commissioner is seated in February or March, and that subcommittee work schedules would be reexamined when the new member is up to speed. No public comments were recorded on these appointments.
The commission acknowledged long‑serving former commissioner Angela McInerney for her service; McInerney’s resignation was announced earlier in the meeting and served as the reason the two vacancies needed to be filled.
