The East Troy Plan Commission recommended that the Village Board approve an ordinance amending the village’s zoning regulations (Chapter 510) on nonconforming structure requirements.
Staff said the amendment is village-initiated and replaces the term “encroachment agreement” with a notice titled “notice of allowable encroachment approved as to form by the village engineer,” to streamline the process the building inspector uses when issuing permits to reconstruct nonconforming structures that encroach on an adjacent parcel. The change would also require that the notice be recorded with the county register of deeds for efficiency in permitting.
The commission opened a public hearing on the amendment and, with no public comments, voted to forward the ordinance to the Village Board with a recommendation for approval.
Ending: The recommended ordinance will be carried to the Village Board for final action as ordinance 2025-08 (citation in staff packet).
