Key votes recorded on Jan. 14 included:
- Liquor and business licenses (items 6–13): The council approved Class A, C and D liquor licenses and change‑of‑location applications for multiple new or relocating businesses, including Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen (17373 Chicago St.), Cilantro's Mexican Bar and Grill (3309 Oakview Park Dr., Suite 101), Tipsy Sisters (4611 S. 90th St., Suite 162), Transcend Wax & Spa (14615 W. Maple Rd., Suite 16), Omaha Airport vendor license (4501 Abbott Dr.), Senor Tequila (14440 F St.), Fosse Vape & Liquor (614–616 S. 70th St.), and a change of location for Poor Decisions to 4601 Catalyst Court, Suite D105. Most of these items received no public opposition at the hearing and passed by roll calls recorded as 6–0 or 7–0 depending on membership present for the vote.
- Preliminary plats and rezonings (items 15–20): The council approved preliminary plats for El Toro Plaza (2405 Z St.) and West Bay Woods Estates (18222 F St.), and approved rezonings and related overlays for sites including 4522 Brown St. and a Leavenworth Street mixed‑use project (items 17–20). Where recorded, votes were 7–0.
- Tax increment financing and related development items: Item 21 (Oxworth Apartments TIF) was approved (see separate article). Other redevelopment items on the consent agenda, including items related to the Leavenworth project (18–20), passed by roll call as part of the consolidated vote.
- Grants and intergovernmental funds: Item 25, the City of Omaha and Douglas County joint application for the Fiscal Year 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), passed 7–0. Item 69, a U.S. Marshals Service joint task force disbursement of $87,043 for Omaha Police overtime operations, was on the agenda and advanced. Item 59, a $500,000 payment to Canopy South to support Plaza De La Raza in South Omaha, was approved 7–0.
- Boards and appointments: The council approved a voting member appointment to the Omaha Municipal Land Bank board (item 63) by roll call 7–0.
