Clayton County names Tim Sweatt permanent fire chief after board vote

Chief Sweatt thanked the chairwoman, the board and county staff and said he planned to continue projects already underway. "This community has been my home for 56 years. 36 of those have been a firefighter in this community. And to stand here and know that, you have given put your trust in me, I truly appreciate that," he said. Sweatt added that he would work to advance construction projects, open new stations and build on the work of the previous fire chief.
