Hamilton County Council approves $12.5 million bond authorization, multiple ordinances and budget moves

Hamilton County Council approved a not-to-exceed $12.5 million general-obligation bond authorization and a series of ordinances, resolutions and budget adjustments during its Sept. 3 meeting.

Oscar Gutierrez, municipal adviser to the county, told the council the public hearing concerned issuance of bonds "that we typically do as to maintain the tax rate" and that the amount would be "not to exceed 12 and a half million dollars." Gutierrez said the county was anticipating an interest rate not to exceed 7% and that the county would work during pricing to keep annual payments at a level that would not increase the tax rate for taxpayers.

The council opened the public hearing on the bond authorization and heard no public comment before closing the hearing and later approving the related ordinances by voice vote.
