Council schedules public hearings for four proposed ordinance amendments

At its July 9 meeting the Burrillville Town Council held first readings and voted to schedule public hearings (at the call of the chair) on four proposed ordinance amendments:

- A traffic and vehicles amendment to add a no‑parking restriction on a portion of Lower Level Avenue (chapter 26, section 26‑32). - An amendment to Chapter 2 (Administration), section 2‑112, relating to the town’s capital project program (to be scheduled for hearing). - A proposed repeal in Chapter 2 of section 2‑113 (special revenue reserve fund) in its entirety (public hearing to be scheduled). - A proposed amendment to Chapter 2 (Administration), Article 4 (Boards, Commissions and Committees) to add provisions for a code of conduct (public hearing to be scheduled).

Each item was introduced for first reading and the council voted to schedule public hearings at the chair’s discretion. No final votes on the ordinances were taken; the items will return for public hearings and subsequent council action. The motions to schedule hearings were made by councilors and seconded in the usual manner and were approved by voice votes.
