Trustees received multiple operational updates at the June 23 meeting on debris removal, completed repairs and outreach to residents.
Debris and emergency response: Staff reported that a large pile of debris had been removed from the northeast quadrant of a bridge and bridal lane and placed in the creek floodplain. County public‑works staff and the fire department are scheduled to visit the site within weeks to assess and, if necessary, burn piled material to reduce fire risk. Staff said county crews had "pulled me up their sites" and that the district is coordinating with county partners before any on‑site burning.
Completed repairs: Staff told trustees that last week a set of repairs to a named asset (referred to in discussion as "leather repairs") were finished and that the contractor will submit an invoice for full payment. "The leather repairs have all been completed," a staff speaker said.
Outreach and materials: Trustees reviewed a proposed postcard mailer and related outreach materials and approved sending the revised postcard to residents. Staff had circulated a draft postcard and discussed changes suggested by trustees (removing or rewording certain graphics language and clarifying emergency/repair messaging). The board voted to approve the postcard mailer as revised.
Why it matters: near‑term debris removal and completed repairs influence both safety and project schedules. The approved postcard is intended to inform residents about district actions and encourage engagement during upcoming design and permitting steps.
Ending: Staff will work with county crews on the site visit and will arrange invoicing for completed repairs. The postcard mailer will be distributed after final edits.
