Zanuvi Salon co-founders seek city help promoting stylists and womens empowerment program

Angela Morgan, a stylist and co-founder of Zanuvi Salon, spoke during public comment on Oct. 6 to request city assistance in promoting hiring opportunities and a local womens empowerment initiative called "I'm Her." Morgan said Zanuvi Salon at 1222 West Kemper Road offers booth rental and commission opportunities, internships for students and a related paid program that provides resources, scholarships and trauma support.
"We beautify women from the outside. But ... I'm Her is the women's empowerment from, women, teens and young Children to empower them, to boost their morale and promote confidence," Morgan told council. She asked the city to consider listing the program on the city's website or e-newsletter; staff replied that the council office can include the information in the city e-newsletter.
Morgan provided a business phone number on the record and left materials with council; no formal city funding or program partnership was requested during the meeting.
