Neighbor raises repeated dumping complaints at John Charles Estates development, requests city intervention

Greg Adams, a Forest Park resident, told the City Council on Oct. 6 that trash and illegal dumping have been recurring problems at the John Charles Estates development behind his home and asked the city to intervene.
"We've called the police several times ... and we would like to see if the council would do something about that," Adams said, describing visible trash and tall grass in the undeveloped area. He said he and his wife, who live at 1199 Lincolnshire Drive, regularly see people dump refuse and asked the city to consider signs, cameras or gating the street into the development.
City officials acknowledged the complaint and said staff had driven the site recently. Mayor Aaron Brown said the developer has a responsibility to maintain the site and that the city might discuss blocking the street until work resumes.
No formal enforcement action, citation or specific follow-up assignment to a department was recorded during the meeting; council members said they would take the matter up with relevant staff and the developer.
