Bishop Bobby Hilton outlines plans for mid-sized convention center, says talks with city ongoing

Bishop Bobby Hilton, senior pastor of Word of Deliverance Ministries, addressed the Forest Park City Council on Oct. 6 to outline plans for a mid-sized convention center and to report ongoing discussions with city officials.
"Our future developments, we are excited about the prospect of further contributing to the community with plans for a mid sized convention center," Bishop Hilton said during the public-comment period. He said the ministrys family life center at 693 Fresno Road sits on 15.65 acres and that the church also owns an office building at 690 Northland Boulevard.
Hilton said he and city officials, including City Manager Don Jones and Mayor Aaron Brown, have met and exchanged information since June and have submitted materials required to move forward. "We filled out MOD which we were supposed to have all matters done by September 30. We're running a bit tardy," he told the council, and left printed materials with council members.
Mayor Brown and the city manager acknowledged the presentation and thanked Hilton for the ministry's community work, noting the facility has hosted COVID-19 testing and other community services.
