Board approves North Lake Tahoe parking-management ordinance and fee schedule after pilot in Kings Beach

Placer County supervisors on Feb. 18 approved a set of code changes and fee schedules to formalize a parking-management program in the North Lake Tahoe basin, following a summer pilot in Kings Beach and months of community engagement.
Assistant Public Works Director Kevin Bell and consultant Julie Dixon summarized the county’s outreach and pilot findings. Dixon said the county and consultants held 10 community meetings, multiple stakeholder briefings, bilingual (Spanish) public sessions and a town hall to build public awareness before launching a paid-parking pilot at the Christmas tree lot near Kings Beach.
