"Ballot verifier should be live tomorrow," he said, and described the change as a goal to increase transparency and timeliness for post‑election review.
Frankel and other clerk staff reviewed lessons from the recent presidential election: more than 53% of voters cast ballots before Election Day through in‑person early voting, and the county saw heavy same‑day voter‑registration volumes. The clerk said the county plans to expand early‑voting sites in fast‑growing western areas of Ada County (Meridian/Star) and to consider splitting large precincts that produced long lines.
Assessor staff provided reappraisal updates: residential appraisers are scheduled to inspect 46,680 residential parcels this year and the office reported approximately 80% of those inspections complete. The assessor's office said it sends reappraisal surveys to about half the properties being inspected (roughly 25,000) and typically receives a 20–30% response rate; the office will expand outreach with postcards next year to notify owners of on‑site inspections.
