Housing development lighting: Council reviewed lighting options for the Prairie Place housing development and approved staff’s recommendation for a smaller residential-style pole selected from Alliant Energy options; the developer pays the capital cost and the city will pay the monthly service fee under the standard arrangement.
Engineering services: The council approved an amendment to the agreement with SEH to redesign and increase the size of a pump station and extend a force main to the wastewater treatment plant. Staff said the amendment covers design and construction services and is within previously discussed costs.
Other routine approvals: The consent agenda passed, including a fireworks agreement for July 4 at a contract cost of $13,500 (rain date July 5). The council also approved directing staff to prepare an ordinance to add an on-street handicap parking space near the Boone Historical Center’s basement entrance.
