Hardin County Fiscal Court on Oct. 28 approved Resolution 2025-207, authorizing a lease agreement to house an ambulance and EMS staff at the West Hardin Fire and Rescue station and allowing 24-hour ambulance operations at that facility.
The court approved the lease by roll call after a brief review of a late revision to the document. A county staff member read the revised section 5 aloud: “The kitchen, bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities shall remain a common area to both West Hardin Fire and Rescue and Hardin County EMS, and neither party shall exclude use by the other and shall make every effort to maintain their suitability for common usage. Each party to this lease has the right to exclude the public and other third parties from these areas except by specific permission granted.”
Judge Hall praised the work that produced the station improvements and the lease, saying, “this lease agreement, it's it's been a bit of a work in progress ... making this station suitable for a 24 hour ambulance as needed, was impressive.” The motion to approve was moved and seconded (movers not named in the transcript) and passed on a unanimous roll call.
After the vote, the court signed the lease in a brief ceremony at the meeting and took a group photograph; Chief Gore of West Hardin Fire and Rescue was present for the signing.
No public objections or recorded amendments were made during the floor discussion. The lease authorizes shared use of specified common facilities and provides the county space to station EMS personnel and an ambulance at West Hardin Fire and Rescue as set out in the agreement.
