Wayne County approves PAPI lighting funding and retains airport engineering consultant as CIP work moves forward

County staff informed commissioners they expect approximately 90% reimbursement from FAA/state aviation grants for the added cost.
Separately, commissioners approved a qualifications‑based consultant selection for airport engineering and planning. The county manager relayed the airport manager's recommendation to select Passero (listed in meeting materials as Pesaro/Passario/Passero in packet), the firm that has previously provided airport planning and engineering services.
