Park commissioners on Oct. 23 approved submitting an updated job description for the Clearpond director position to human resources for a Jan. 1 recruitment posting.
Commissioners reviewed edits to the job description that add duties and change meeting attendance from monthly to “as needed.” Staff and commissioners discussed whether to hire one 40‑hour director or two 25‑hour co‑directors; Lacey (human resources) said the town might be better served by two 25‑hour positions so seasonal staff can maintain other summer obligations. Commissioners discussed payroll step placement (one member noted step 1 might be roughly $20 per hour) but did not set a salary in the meeting.
The commission voted to forward the revised job description to HR for posting on Jan. 1, and staff was instructed to proceed with recruitment steps. Commissioners also asked that payroll controls be followed — time sheets submitted to the liaison and regular reviews — and that the role include responsibilities to increase revenue and work with the commission on park improvements.
