Tiburon library’s makerspace to host inaugural artisan market; library staff invite community

Ivan Silva, a librarian at the Tiburon Belvedere Tiburon Library, addressed the Heritage and Arts Commission during oral communications to announce the library’s first Tiburon Artisan Market, a makerspace showcase scheduled over a weekend in November.
Silva said the market is “two-pronged”: it will highlight items created by makerspace users — including adults and some youth — and provide residents a chance to meet local artists and crafters, view original goods made in town and begin holiday shopping. "The market ... will feature people who use our makerspace to make new things," Silva said, noting the makerspace contains tools including laser cutters, 3-D printers and heat presses.
He described the market as an opportunity to raise awareness of the library’s design lab and makerspace while connecting local creators with residents. Silva left contact information for commissioners and staff to follow up on logistics and promotion.
Commissioners and staff thanked Silva and suggested the library coordinate with Town Hall and local business promotions.
