The Tacoma Arts Commission has awarded $100,000 to 25 Tacoma-based artists through its Tacoma Artist Initiative program, the city announced on Tacoma Report.
The awards provide $4,000 to each artist for the 2025–26 funding period to create new works across disciplines including dance and visual arts, and the recipients will produce free public programming across the city, the commission said. The program, established in 1999, is intended to support Tacoma’s artistic community and to engage broader audiences with no-cost events.
The commission said the funds support creation and public presentation and pointed listeners to the city website for a spotlight on each artist and additional details.
