The Huron School District Board of Education accepted and approved conflict-of-interest disclosures filed by board members and multiple administrators during the July 14 meeting.
Board member Tim Van Berkem submitted a disclosure (DV2026-6) noting a direct benefit from a contract; the board moved and approved that disclosure. Board member Ray Cardona (DB2026-9) submitted a disclosure that was approved; Cardona abstained on his own disclosure. Board member Lehi Carey (DB2026-10) submitted a disclosure that was approved by the board.
The board then approved a bundled motion to accept disclosures from several administrators, including Director of Buildings and Grounds John Halcatt (2026-1); Huron Middle School Principal Laura Williamson (2026-2 and 2025-3); Director of Technology Roger Ehlers (2026-4); High School Principal Rodney Mittelstaedt (2026-5); Activities Director Scott DeBoer (2026-7); Buchanan Principal Heather DeBoer (2026-8); Middle School Assistant Principal Lindy Hudson (2026-11); Director of School Nutrition Amanda Riley (2026-12); Madison 2–3 Center Principal Heather Roselle (2026-13); and Director of Special Services Rolena Abelseth (2026-14). The board approved those administrator disclosures in a single motion.
Where recorded in the roll calls, votes included ‘‘Aye’’ votes and the transcript records at least one abstention by the disclosing member on their own filing. The minutes record the motions and approvals as part of the official record.
