Supervisors approve payment for resident's windshield damage after mower crew failed to warn

On the day in question she said a mower operator did not warn her and that she later found three chips in the windshield. Jones said she reported the damage to her supervisor, Marcus Bridal, and to the worker who cut the grass.
Board members reviewed two repair estimates and a supervisor asked whether the chips had been fixed; Jones said they had not. A supervisor moved to pay the lower estimate. The motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote. A member asked the county administrator (not present) to investigate why residents had not been informed before mowing and to take steps to prevent similar incidents.
The board's motion authorized payment of the lower repair estimate; the claimant and board did not identify a policy change in the meeting other than directing the county administrator to review procedures and report back.
