The Huron School District Board of Education approved a lengthy consent agenda that included the designation of the business manager, official newspaper, depositories for district funds, custodians for internal accounts, and multiple memoranda of agreement and advertising contracts.
The board designated Kelly Kristofferson as the district business manager, authorized American Bank and Trust and Area Education Federal Credit Union as official depositories, and named the Huron Plainsman as the official newspaper for district notices. The board also approved custodians for internal accounts and individuals authorized to sign for government funds.
The activities office asked the board to approve a $1 price increase for home athletic and fine-arts event tickets (students and adults) and a 20% increase to season activity passes to support a digital pass option and align pricing with similar area schools; the board approved that request. The consent agenda also included a memorandum of agreement with Baylor University (updated language), a chamber request to use a district bus for state fair service (Aug. 28–Aug. 31; Chamber to provide insurance and driver/fuel), and advertising agreements at Huron Arena and Tiger Stadium with Vision Care Associates, Midco and Dakota Land Federal Credit Union.
Board members moved and seconded the consent agenda as a single motion; the board voted to approve it.
The consent agenda also formalized standard administrative items typically approved annually: meeting dates (normally second and fourth Mondays), board member pay ($100 per meeting; chair/vice chair $125 per meeting), meal and mileage reimbursement rates, designation of truant officers and the district Title IX coordinator, and authorization for publication of employee salaries.
